George
Michael Tours With John Lennon's Piano
British pop
star George Michael is set to tour infamous British
trouble-spots playing songs on John Lennon's famed white piano.
The former
Wham! star paid $3 million for the instrument - which Lennon
wrote peace anthem Imagine on - and will play it when he
performs in the four sites of the 7/7 bombings, the street where
black teenager Stephen Lawrence was murdered and the Admiral
Duncan bar in London's Soho, which was hit by a nail bomb in
1999.
The Tragedy
Tour aims to promote peace and harmony amongst British
communities. Tour boss Caroline True said, "We'd like to
take it (piano) everywhere we can. Our intention is to go to
places in England where bad things have happened."
Imagine
reached number one in the charts after the assassination of John
Lennon in 1980.
