Ill
George out of comeback show
George
Michael has pulled out of his first live concert for five years
after being struck down by laryngitis.
He had been
among stars due to perform at a breast cancer charity gig hosted
by former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell at London's Royal Albert
Hall.
Ronan
Keating, Natasha Bedingfield and Tom Jones are among the
performers who are still appearing on Sunday.
Michael, who
lost his mother to cancer several years ago, will instead make a
£50,000 donation to the charity.
He and
Halliwell, who will host the concert, fell out a couple of years
ago but have since made up. Michael's last concert appearance
was at Net Aid in 1999.
The concert
is part of the Tickled Pink campaign, which aims to help various
breast cancer causes.
A statement
on Michael's website said: "He's devastated to miss the
show Geri has organised, after all the hard work she's put into
it."
