World AIDS Day, George played a benefit concert in front of the late Diana, Princess Of Wales. This 'Concert Of Hope' also featured K D lang and Mick Hucknall and was televised worldwide, doing much to raise funds and awareness of the disease.

Disney Channel announced the broadcast with this text:

"David Bowie hosts an AIDS benefit at London's Wembley Stadium that features performances by George Michael, k.d. lang, and Mick Hucknall of the group Simply Red." Their reviewer, Paul Droesch, added: "Michael headlines this AIDS benefit, taped last December in London, and his set is pleasant enough. But the reason to watch is k.d. lang, who's on stage as long as he is, and clearly displays why she has become a big star.
